Interview with Romowe Rikoito (Castle Party – 2000)
It was a first time when RR performed abroad, tell about your impressions, firstly from a concert itself…
Victoria: I concern to any performance in any place very serious, this concert wasn't an exception. During my setting up there was a warm and friendly atmosphere in the hall that influenced beneficially on a general spirit in group. In general the performance could be called a lucky one.
What did stick in your memory most of all, what Castle Party will be associated with after some time?
Johnny: I think most of all it was a field of buck wheat on a slope of a hill. Indescribable beautiful place. In addition there were many funny things, but I don't want to talk about it now.
As I know, there were definite organizational troubles with hotels and some other things, how do you think whose were all that carelessness and what was a role of RGP in all this?
Johnny: I don't know exactly who is an organizer, that's why it's difficult to judge. There were some disagreements with RGP concerning the time of our departure, but we had a sharp plan and we had just followed it.
Ànny: I haven't heard anything about troubles with hotels. The group was settled up in a some kind of boarding school, of course it was not arch but it was enough for us.
Victoria: These little discomforts couldn't darken all the charms of our trip. Everything was marvelous! It is very pleasant that we not only visited such a wonderful event, but also took part in it.
If you be invited next year will you go to Castle Party? And if your answer is positive, next time your trip be organized together with RGP?
Ànny: Of course we'll go.
Johnny: I agree with Ann. What is concerned RGP, I think that in spite of everything they are nice people. But by mood of some of them you may think that it is they who were going to perform but not we. Yes, conditions were not in a high class, but anyhow we must be the stoics and kiniks in our soul even just a little.
Victoria: If everything be all right we'll go without any doubt. We'll be glad if our friends Neutral go with us and all who wants.
What is your impression from other groups performed on Castle Party?
Ànny: I listened to Ataraxia with admire. All the rest wasn't interesting for me.
Johnny: As it turned out, in a little exception, it is more gothic-metal festival. Before it would be interesting for me to listen to them, but now I like another music. But I must point out that many groups have a high level.
Victoria: Among setting up groups I liked Aion, Lux Occulta è Moonlight very much.
It was you third concert. Where it was more difficult to perform and what mood had musicians before and after concert?
Johnny: Many musicians have a great concert experience, it helps. It was more difficult to perform in Moscow, as it was a first official performance and there were worries about the case how any musician would behave himself on a stage. But now I can say we are already a fully formed group. We had worries about sound. Up to now I reckon that they could bring out a more solid apparatus. Almost dead monitor line!!! To play when you nearly do not hear each other is not a pleasant occupation. In addition acoustic of a hall added harmony in phonation of some instruments and it seemed that they became out of tune, however we carefully and steadily tuned it all up.
What can you say about energetic power of the place you performed?
Johnny: Bolkow – is an impossibly beautiful place. Unfortunately we had little time just to roam through it.
Did you contact with audience, did many of the presented have heard you before?
Johnny: We almost didn't contact with the audience. But I was greatly surprised that they know us quiet well and it warmed a heart that nice hearty welcome during the concert.
And of course those who under some circumstances wasn't in your concert would be interesting to know have you any plans for your continuing concert activity?
Johnny: Yes, we have, but they are so fragile that I even don't want to talk about it.
